Sophie asks Themba if he knows about the National Housing Fund. Themba says he does but he doesn’t know all the details. In order to find out everything, he suggests Sophie visits the Department of Housing. He tells her there are certain criteria that have to be met before you can be eligible for a house or residential stand. Themba says that this scheme is there for low-income households where they would like to buy a property for the first time.

The loan can be used to buy an existing home or a plot where a house will be built. Instalments are paid straight to the financial institution.
